Sandy
If only I could be doing what Sandy was doing, but Today. Too bad work has to happen today.
What a sweetie! (both of them). Aww.
Sandy has her life jacket on, to get ready for her ride!
Goggles will definitely help her a bit too in the water. ;-)
Time for rafting!!
Now back to the boat.
Looks like a fun day to me!!

How Sandy Came to be Adopted
By: Jaime
Sandy was a dog that was picked up by the devore animal shelter in Ca, my husband and I were not even married yet, but we were looking for a dog. He found this dog and came home to tell me about it. We discussed it and decided that our home was just not ready for a dog, the backyard was not secure enough and we were trying to get the home fixed up. One morning his pager went off, a number he did not recognize, he called it back, after he hung up I asked "who was that?" he said "you really don't want to know" but they proceeded to tell me it was the shelter and they wanted to know if we were still interested in this dog, the only reason they had not put it to sleep yet was because he had showed interest. We took all the money we had and put it together, we had just enough to go get her. The shelter was on my way to school so we left early, got to the shelter and it was closed, my husband called the number that they had paged him to earlier and they said they did not open for another hour. We were crushed but I had to go to school, and he had things to do to, so he gave me back my money and we left. During a break, I called him, and told he I could go pick her up on my way home, I could stop at the bank, he said "it too late" my heart dropped, "she is sitting right here with me." When I got home she ran up to me like she had known me forever. I took her to the vet, she was malnourished and had kennel cough, I bought her some prescription dog food and got her antibiotics. That was 6 years ago in Sept, she is doing well, she still has the occasional ear infection, and has had problems with her anal glands off and on but is in good health. We know that she must have been abused by a male at sometime in her life because she is very skid dish around men, but she loves her daddy and grandpas she is like our daughter and our parents granddaughter. She is very smart, she like to "talk' and tell you when she wants to go out, or she will go stand next to her leash when she wants to go for a walk. She goes boating with us, she is getting used to the water slowly but surely, but she loves riding in the boat.

You can have your dog featured here, with backstory too if you submit your pictures! The link is right above my flickr account on the right panel!
Also, celebrity dog look-a-like should be up either tonight or tomorrow.
I hope you all had a great weekend! My weekend was a lot of fun. I watched The Devil Wears Prada with some friends and Mike on Friday night. We also got a really tasty dinner before it! Mmm. And then on Saturday I went to Huntington Dog Beach. That was a lot of fun. i got to see a mini Labradoodle, a regular size Labradoodle and a Goldendoodle. Emily made a lot of friends, but is still terrifed of the water. We decided we needed to get her an umbrella though because she kept trying to sit under everyone else's shade. It was pretty hilarious.
After the beach we made some really good mexican food and watched Entourage. And then on Sunday, Mike and I went to breakfast with Andrea, which was definitely tasty. Then a little while after that we went to dinner in Belmont shores and then we went to play disc golf with Jeremy and Carey. That was a lot of fun! I wish I had pictures, but it is hard to carry a camera and a throw a disc. I ended up losing my old trusty disc in a tree. After awhile of trying to come up with creative ideas to get the disc out of the tree, Jeremy was nice enough to let me use his SHARK disc. It was a lot of fun, and I want to do it again! I love weekends like these!
I am at work today, but get tomorrow off. I will try to get a good blog in tomorrow!
